Lex R. Thomas is a non-binary figurative artist based in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Surrounded by pastures and cane fields in rural Acadiana, Lex developed a connection to the natural environment. Lex's practice works through themes of elation and peril from the evolving perspective of a southern queer creative.

Their art has been featured in local and national exhibitions, including The 61st Annual Juried Competition, Cur Non, and Eye of the Beholder. In 2023, they received the ArtSpark Individual Artist Grant. Lex co-founded ARCHIVES, an Acadiana-based artist collective, and participates in other local initiatives such as Bare Walls and Culturalyst.
